Discover films on foot
After a successful ‘opening weekend’, the Inner London Ramblers’ Films on Foot Festival continues all this week and next weekend with talks themed around Hitchcock, the City, gangsters and the estates of East London. Each walk explores the real-life locations that have made London a mecca for filmmakers and film fans from around the world. On this week’s walks you can discover which location became ‘Diagon Alley’ in Harry Potter, which building housed Cruella De Vil’s evil empire and where Natalie Portman met Jude Law in Closer. One of the highlights is the ‘Soho and the West End Films on Foot’ walk this Friday, a 3-mile stroll that takes in no fewer than 100 films!
Timed to coincide with the 56th BFI London Film Festival, the walks are free and led by Ramblers volunteers, who will be visiting nearly 400 film locations across the capital during the course of the festival, all ending at a pub.
